As a personal trainer and gym owner I hear this question all the time. People are always wondering what the best workout routine is, as they are looking for the best results possible in the shortest amount of time possible. There is really a very short, and simple, answer to this questions! The single best workout routine that exists is…

THE WORKOUT ROUTINE THAT YOU CAN AND WILL STICK WITH.

It's no secret that there are literally thousands, if not millions, of different workout routines out there. Here’s a secret that i'm willing to share with you… they will literally ALL work! (unless of course it is horribly designed or tells you that you only need to workout once per week for 30 minutes).

Will a gym routine where you workout 3-4 days per week for an hour each time work? (and by “work” i simply mean make you stronger, help burn body fat, make you more defined, etc…)

  • Absolutely

Will an at-home workout routine work where you follow a DVD for 30-45 minutes per day for 3-4 days per week work?

  • Absolutely

Will a boot camp workout work where you workout with other gym members for 30-60 minutes per day at least 3-4 days per week?

  • Absolutely

There are a couple of recurring themes here, and these are traits that should be recognized in nearly all good workout plans.

  • You should be working anywhere between 30-60 minutes each time you workout.

  • You should be exercising at least 3-4 days per week for an effective training program.

The #1 main thing is that you have to STICK WITH the program, regardless of what the program is, to see the results you desire. We have all seen it many times before, people start a new exercise program and stop it within a couple days, a week, a month, or even a year. Why do they stop doing it? Its simply because they don’t ENJOY what they are doing, and therefore are not very likely to continue doing it. How many times have you continued to do something that you didn’t enjoy? (not talking about jobs or professions here, because those are things we need to make money and live our day to day lives).

Simply put, if you don’t enjoy your routine you likely won’t stick to it. If you can’t stick to it, it's not a good plan for you, and you should look for something else that you enjoy doing more! Once you find something that you enjoy, and therefore you stick with it, it WILL work and you WILL see results, 100% guaranteed.

What that type of workout routine is is completely different for each individual. So I would urge you to try different things until you have found the best type of routine FOR YOU! Clearly what has worked for someone else might not work for you, because you are not the same person, and you do not have the same tastes/likes/dislikes!

Do some experimenting, and try to stick with a new routine for a month before determining whether its something you enjoy and will adhere to. Once you’ve found that routine, ride it out, and reap the benefits!

By the way, the same goes for nutrition and diet plans! What's the best diet plan out there? Simple answer once again, the best diet plan is the one you will STICK TO! If it's too restrictive and you are miserable while dieting, there is no way you’re going to continue with it, and you’ll be much more likely to cheat! Dieting shouldn’t be a chore, and it shouldn’t make you miserable. Small changes here and there in your diet can make all the difference in the world.

The main reason I believe Fitness Fusion members have been so successful with their results, is that they all legitimately ENJOY the workouts and therefore they WANT to come multiple times every week. I can promise you that if members did not enjoy the workouts and time spent at the gym, the attendance would reflect it, and the results of the members would be nowhere near as good as they are!

So there you have it, the single best workout in the world is the one you enjoy and stick to. Regardless of whatever workout it actually is, you will get results from it! All there is left for you to do now is to find that workout!

Thanks for reading and as always feel free to ask me questions any time!
